Guidelines for Commenting

My hope is that this site can be a place for civil – even cordial – discourse.

You’re welcome to comment on anything here so long as you abide by the principles of truth and civility. It would be helpful if we can all comply with the rules of critical thinking.  They are one of the most important ways that you can persuade others about your thoughts; unless, of course, they aren’t capable of using critical thinking.

Here’s a good introduction to Critical Thinking,

For now, all comments are moderated.  Don’t get me wrong; I despise government-imposed censorship or censorship imposed by the likes of Google, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, etc.  What I much prefer is conscientious self-censorship.  You do your own filtering and I’m happy with that.

Comments that are racist, hateful, or encourage violence; comments that make egregious use of profanity and such, are not welcome here.

Since this isn’t the government but is a privately-owned website, I’ll be the sole decision-maker about which comments are, or are not, acceptable here. Fair enough?

For rejected comments, I’ll try to reply, via email, explaining why. You can take it from there.
